Catching Up!

Lots has happened since I last blogged! Spring Break, Spring Choir Concert, ACDA State Choral Festival, Hunger Games Midnight Premeire...you get the idea! Spring Break was filled with watching movies, working, eating lots of food, heart-attacking Carolyn on her appreciation day, and riding around in Karissa's Jeep to random Studco members houses (and leaving them ten voicemails each because they kept deleting themselves!), and a shaving cream/ mini marshmellow war! My friends also got together to have a green paint war on St. Patricks Day! It was so messy but so fun!!

Becoming zombies!

On Carolyn's Appreciation Day she was unfortunately hospitalized because of a virus. :,( It broke my heart to think that of all days this would be the day that she would have to be admitted again. But with prayers and faith I came to remember that it is all in God's hands, the trials she is struggling through are only for her benefit, even when we cannot see the benefit it is there.

Our "Spring Fling" choir concert went really well!  Concert choir's songs sounded INCREDIBLE on the recording of the concert we got to hear. I was so impressed and amazed that that was us, the hard work really paid off! AVE also had an outstanding performance, Mrs. Law conducted Pri Presporku na Dunaji, a folksong about geese fighting and men going to shoot them, kinda weird but a fun one to sing for sure! Then we sang Comes Love, since we've sang it so much it has gotten so much better and it just "grooves" as Doc would say! The next song we put together for the concert in just a few weeks, it was a beautiful ballad called Two for the Road, a love story song about traveling through the years and collecting precious memories :) Doc let Maddi and Schae conduct while she sat on the piano bench which was right behind me. The next day Doc was saying how she loved being able to hear me sing it, my voice just blends in normally because I simply don't have a loud voice, so hearing Doc say that she enjoyed being right behind me was a big complement! The next song was Brazilia, which is another one we have just been able to perfect since we've sang it at AMEA and Jazz Mad. It was another one we could just relax and really put all our energy and souls into the music without worrying about the rhythms or notes; which if you've ever experienced just feels amazing to be able to concectrate on letting the audience get into the song.
